Why choose Challenger Vet?

Dr Ashleigh Arbuthnot and Dr Kristy Denmead have applied the knowledge and experience of many years combined practice to bring the community a veterinary hospital which combines exceptional treatment and reasonable fees in a friendly and welcoming environment.

We are a caring and highly skilled team with a vision for high quality, personalised veterinary care.

  • Continuity of care and communication. We are a small clinic - you won’t get lost in the crowd.
  • A gentle handling policy and a compassionate approach to treatment. When you entrust your pet to us, you can be confident that they are in safe hands.
  • Patience and understanding. We are pet owners too, we know how overwhelming it can be when your animal is unwell.
  • You and your pet will benefit from the relationship you build with our close-knit team.

We’re here for you 7 days a week for consultations, surgery and hospital treatments.

  • Opening hours are 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 5pm on Saturday and 9am – 4pm on Sunday. (We run by appointment so please
    call ahead
    where possible.)
  • Emergencies will be treated as a priority, without an appointment.

Brand new, purpose built hospital, designed to optimise patient care and comfort.

  • Temperature controlled hospital wards and treatment areas.
  • Sound-proofed and separated dog and cat wards to minimise patient stress.
  • In-house laboratory facilities to determine your pet's diagnosis and best treatment options without the delay of using external pathology.
  • Advanced digital imaging, allowing us to take rapid, accurate X-rays and export them immediately to specialists, or onto a disc for you to take home.

We provide flexibility in treatment options, tailored to your requirements.

  • Fixed fee procedures so you know what to expect.
  • The option of finance through VetPay (an external credit provider).

We provide comprehensive veterinary care in one convenient location.

  • Our combined medical and surgical experience means we can offer a diverse and comprehensive range of treatments in-house, from chronic skin conditions to complex orthopaedic surgeries.
  • Our team works with visiting consultants to provide convenient and cost effective specialist services not normally available in non-specialist centres.

After-hours assistance:

  • Our good friends at Baldivis Emergency Vet and WAVES (Western Australian Veterinary Emergency and Speciality) will provide urgent cases with the best possible care outside our opening hours.

We support local animal welfare groups.

  • We treat a variety of sick and injured wildlife that are presented to us at the hospital. We have a network of carers who will do their best to ensure their safe release back into the wild.
  • We look forward to an ongoing relationship with local charitable organisations including SABBR (Staffy And Bully Breed Rescue), DFL (Desperate For Love) and WA Seabird Rescue.
